Two of my paintings on display at the San Francisco Women Artists Gallery’s “The American Gaze” exhibit
I’m thrilled to share that two of my acrylic paintings are on display at the San Francisco Women Artists Gallery and are featured in “The American Gaze” exhibit (which ends on September 5th)!
“Sea Dance,” 22×28, acrylic on canvas
My painting pictured above, “Sea Dance,” is my abstract interpretation of Portuguese Beach in Mendocino, California, where I spent my birthday last summer :) I brought my watercolors with me to the beach and painted swatches of the different colors and hues I observed at the beach. When I came back home to the Bay Area, I used that swatch sheet to create the palette for “Sea Dance.”
“The Way Life Should Be,” 12×15, acrylic on canvas
My second painting that was accepted, “The Way Life Should Be,” is also (obviously) inspired by a beach day—this one at Popham Beach in Maine. I went to undergrad in Maine and have so many happy memories of time spent on the Maine coast. In fact, Maine and California are my two favorite states! The title, “The Way Life Should Be” is the Maine-state motto. :)

I did my best to get a shot including only my paintings in the frame!
Both of these paintings are for sale at the gallery in SF’s Sunset District! If you’d like to see the exhibit before it ends on September 5th, you can find more information on the SFWA’s website. Also, I have prints of “The Way Life Should Be,” as well as other seascape prints, in my Etsy shop, which you can find here!
